What “zone” are we in?

Minot, ND is located in USDA climate zone 3a in well protected spots in the river valley and USDA climate zone 3b on the hills or the surrounding prairie areas. Minot Air Force Base (MAFB), ND is located in USDA climate zone 3b. The only perennial plant material that Lowe’s Garden Center carries is specifically for our zone. This includes trees and shrubs, many of which are bred in Northern Minnesota and Southern Canada to be hardy here in Minot and the surrounding communities.
