James L. Lowe, AIFD, CFD was born and raised in a family flower shop in Minot, ND.  He was educated at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and holds a pair of Bachelor’s degrees.  His design education started on the job and was rounded out by classes with some of the world’s best teachers in Western and European floral design.  His design styles range from fabulous party work to simple garden design, with an emphasis on formalinear (high style) design. 

James has worked at floral shops in three different states ranging from Mom and Pop florists to funeral home flower factories in several States across the US.  He moved back to North Dakota to take over the floral Division of his home company.  He was inducted in to the American Institute of Floral Designers in 2005 and is now one of only two Accredited designers in the state of North Dakota.  He has designed and taught classes at state level conventions, garden clubs and community events, and wholesale shows on topics ranging from party work and personal flowers to sympathy and tributes. 

Most recently, James has designed fantasy event weddings for brides in Minot, ND, installed the floral décor representing the American Institute of floral Designers at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show and taught floral design and floral technology classes at the north Dakota State Florists Association Annual Convention and the Institute of Floristy in Minneapolis, MN.  James is a Vice Chariperson of the American Institute of Floral Designers Membership Committee, which selects candidates for AIFD Accreditation, the Past-President of Teleflora MinnDakota Educational Unit Board of Directors, a Representative to the Board of Directors of the North Central Region of the American Institute of Floral Designers and Treasurer of the North Dakota State Florists Association.
